Company Resources

Company Resources are all assets a company controls and can use to achieve its goals.

Company resources include the following:

  • Human Resources
  • Material Resources
  • Financial Resources
  • Intangible Assets

From this point of view, we can define a company as a unique collection of resources. This collection is not easy to replicate, and the differences between the quantity, share and quality of resources of different companies have an impact on the performance of them.

Financial Resources Examples

  • Cash: money or its equivalent.
  • Bank Deposits: money placed into banks, including checking accounts and money market accounts.
  • Holdings of Stocks: publicly traded stocks can be easily converted to cash, and are considerer financial resources of an organization. This stocks are traded on stocks exchanges, like the NASDAQ or the NYSE. It takes only a few minutes to sell stocks on the market.

What are Perpetual Resources?

Perpetual resources are renewable resources that cannot be exhausted, regardless of their rate of use. Perpetual resources are natural resources, because they are provided by nature without human intervention. But not all natural resources are perpetual resources: some natural resources can cease to be renewable if used in excess or unsustainably.

Examples of perpetual resources

- Wind.
- Solar energy.
- Waves and Tides.
- Geothermal Energy.

Renewable Resources

Renewable Resources are those resources that are not exhausted by their utilization. They return to their original state or are regenerated quicker than they are decreased by its use.

Resources are those capacities and elements (both natural and man-made) that can be used to produce goods or services, or that have an intrinsic value without the need to be modified, and are scarce in relation to the current or potential demand.
